Gigi R Designs tells us: "This is a reproduction of a French sampler made by Marie Honorat in 1820. Marie was 10 years old at the time. In the central part of her sampler Marie stitched a big altar decorated with silver and gold. The rest of the sampler is filled with lovely motifs, including a priest standing in a pulpit and an adorable donkey with toes. Marie used her imagination and lots of straight and buttonhole stitches to complement the cross stitch motifs."
The stitch count is 546w x 457h.
The model was stitched on 40 count Parchment hand dyed linen from Weeks Dye Works using a combination of hand dyed cotton flosses from Weeks Dye Works, The Gentle Art and Classic Colorworks.
