Reproduction of a Dutch sampler. Picture above is the original sampler. Stitch count is 264w x 260h.
Gigi R Designs tells us: "Sampler depicts a red stag, number of flower pots and four rather inconspicuous birds. There is a line of letters at the bottom of the sampler, but it is difficult to tell an exact meaning of these letters. There are two dates - 1861 stitched between antlers of the stag and 1866 in the lower right corner. Could those be years when this sampler was started and accomplished?"
Reproduction was stitched on 35 count Gray (formerly known as Confederate Gray) hand dyed linen from Weeks Dye Works using hand dyed cotton floss from Weeks Dye Works.
