These prefinished Christmas Ornaments are complete with
cross stitch instructions, needle, backing fabric and a
hanging loop for quick finishing. Simply cross stitch
your design (use cross stitch over one or two) and either
use fabric glue or hand stitch the backing flap to the
bias trim. The instructions also suggest that you could
slide a piece of batting or a bit of fiber-fill between
the layers for a puffier finish.
The design area is approximately 3.25" in diameter.
I think that these would make wonderful hardanger
ornaments. After you’ve worked your hardanger motif,
slide a piece of complimentary fabric in between the
layers to enhance the laciness of your hardanger design.
There are lots of sources for designs that would fit
in the Stitch-Up prefinished ornaments. There are several
in the Just CrossStitch 2011 Ornaments magazine. The
Victoria Sampler’s Christmas Treasures Collection has
both cross stitch and hardanger options and the new
Woodland Babies designs would also fit perfectly.
