In the course of discussing materials for a project or the status
of an order, my customers quite often ask "What have you been working on?"
The Photo Gallery features some of my recent projects and since I mostly stitch
shop models, you will find most of these charts or kits in our shop.

Spring Garden Sampler by Sharon Cohen of The Nostalgic Needle
This was a class that I took from Sharon through our local needlework guild that has since been
released as a chart. It is probably the most complex piece I've finished - lots of dimensional work. The bottom third, which wouldn't fit on my scanner,
is open work.

Sampler Name Pin by The Nostalgic Needle
A fun, quick little project. It took me 2 nights to stitch. It could be finished with
a cord hung around your neck or attach a pin clasp to the back.

Stitching Chair Necessaire from Hillside Samplings
We have been working on the Necessaire as a stitch-a-long both on-line at monthly meetings in the shop. It has been a very enjoyable project and a lot of fun to work on as a group.

Halfpenny Pasture by Carriage House Samplings
Worked on 36 count Lakeside Linens hand dyed linen with Soie d'Alger silk thread. I really
enjoyed stitching this piece. Sometimes it is a welcome change to do a project with just cross stitch.

"Autumn" is the first in a series of seasonal samplers that we

Missing Persons by Amy Mitten / Fibers to Dye For
This is Amy's smallest sampler in her series murder mystery samplers. While 28 count linen is provided in the kit, I stitched mine on 35 count lambswool linen.

Queens Sweet Bag by Sharon Cohen of the Nostalgic Needle
The colors in this piece are fabulous - Sharon incorporates such
great colors into her pieces. I used Soie d'Alger silk thread for all of the stitching. Although the instructions say to
finish this as a bag with tassels, that was a bit too fussy for me so
I have framed it in an ornate black wood frame that really brings the colors alive.

Take Time to Quilt ~ Spring by Jeannette Douglas
The 2nd in the Take Time to Quilt series...I've stitched them all. I am waiting for Winter
to come out this fall and have seen the chart for it...it is equally beautiful with lots of
specialty stitches.

SS Spot Sampler by Amy Mitten / Fibers to Dye For
Stitched entirely in Queen Stitch, Amy has a way of sewing the
Queen Stitches that has beautiful results and speeds up the process. A reproduction of a sampler that Amy has in her collection.

The Tudor Rose Sampler by Amy Mitten / Fibers to Dye For
My favorite of Amy's mystery samplers, I was able to help Amy write the story. It is written
in old English (or our version, anyway). The symbolism and motifs in the sampler correlate to
the story that is included.

Strawberry Thief Ornamental by Sharon Cohen
One of my first experiences with tent stitch - the effect is fabulous. This is
stitched on 32 count Summer Khaki linen with one strand of Soie D'Alger silk thread.

Autopsy of the Montenegrin Stitch Book Pocket
This is a kit the Amy Mitten released earlier this year (2003). Every single one of
those stitches is a Montenegrin Stitch! The picture portion is actually the top flap
of the pocket book. I was even able to sew it together myself!

Twigg Miniatures circa 1800 from the Scarlet Letter
The pictures are dark because I trying to scan through the glass of the frame.
One of these days I will figure out my digital camera. I also tea dyed the linen
before stitching and am really happy with the results.

weekend camping trip.

As you have probably guessed, I really enjoy stitching Amy Mitten's samplers.
These little "Victims" are particularly great and quick to stitch.
