Announcement!

Janice is Retiring!

Updated January 14, 2026

After almost 26 years at the helm of Traditional Stitches, Janice is ready to take on a change. I hear that there is a thing out there called “day stitching”…I’d like to give that a try!

While we will be starting our wind down process shortly, We are offering Traditional Stitches for sale.

We will continue to order from most of our suppliers and keep our regular shop hours and ship orders as usual. We want the shop to be in the best possible shape for a potential new owner.

Please visit this page, watch our newsletter and social media for updates. We will have lots of news to share by February 1st!
I am going to be very specific about who purchases my shop and carries on the Traditional Stitches brand. If you are a hard working and want to invest in an established, successful needlework shop (and are passionate about needlework!) then please email me to express your interest. Serious inquiries only: janice@traditionalstitches.com

If that amazing someone doesn't come along then we will be open to the idea of selling our stock, fixtures and most of our shop models to someone who would like to start with their own brand.

Please find a few more details about the potential sale of the shop below.

This is new territory for me so I’m sure questions, ideas and plans will evolve as we go along.

Thank you for your support over all of these years!

Much love,

Janice

Buying Traditional Stitches:

There are 2 possible ways that our business could be sold:

With either option, Traditional Stitches would have to be relocated within an agreed upon time frame. A lawyer will be required to handle a transaction of this size.

1 - Share Sale - this is where everything is included: Traditional Stitches Inc. name, web site, good will, inventory, fixtures, most of the shop models, established processes, an amount of transition training...pretty much all aspects of our shop that you can think of.

When considering this option, please keep in mind that we have a significant inventory, good income and 5 hard working fully trained employees.

2 - Asset Sale - this is where only tangible items are included such as inventory, fixtures, most shop models, supplies etc and would involve either establishing a new company or merging into an existing company.

Serious inquiries only, please email a cover letter to: janice@traditionalstitches.com
