Nicola tells us: "Ann Tong Uffindell 1835 was originally published by Hands Across the Sea
Samplers in a special limited-edition booklet as a duet with her sister Isabella Uffindell 1829. Isabella and Ann were our gift to our
stitching sisters in 2017, and as they each make their solo appearance
at the end of 2019, they are once again our gift to a new audience of
sampler lovers. They come from our hearts to your hands." Ann stitched her sampler when she was just 10 years old, 6 years after her sister stitched her version. It is remarkable that the samplers have been together through the centuries!
Ann has been reproduced using the colours on the front of the sampler in 2016.
Stitch count is 320 W x 378 H.
Model was stitched on 40 count Pecan Butter hand dyed linen from Lakeside Linens with 1 strand of Soie d'Alger Silk floss. Sampler is charted for Soie d'Alger Silks and a conversion to DMC Cotton floss is provided.
We have also listed 46 count Pecan Butter to be stitched with Soie 100/3 as a thread choice.
Ann's sampler has been rated as suitable for an intermediate stitcher but is not beyond the reach of a determined beginner wishing to explore Satin stitches. See the Related items below for her sister's sampler ~ Isabella Uffindel.
