Vickie tells us "This undated, unidentified woolwork sampler contains delights from a summer garden. Everything about this sampler is happy! From the colors to the slightly irregular motifs, one can imagine a young child stitching motifs from her summer surroundings. The dogs aren’t exactly the same size—what dogs are? The borders corners aren’t symmetrical. She didn’t mind! Yet, like life, in its imperfections, everything worked out. More than a century later, we are enjoying what likely was a child’s early attempt with needle and thread."

Stitch count is 291 W x 172 H.

Model was stitched on 40 count Vintage Country Mocha linen and stitched with Belle Soie hand dyed silks from Classic Colorworks.
