The idea for this book came when the author, Amy Mitten, was working on reproducing a 17th Century sampler that is done entirely in Montenegrin stitch, even the alphabet!
112 full color pages. Includes stitch diagrams for working the Montenegrin in 3 different methods: regular, reversible to 4 sided stitch and double sided (or reversible) Montenegrin.
For each method, the stitch diagrams show how to work the stitch stitch up, down, left, right, on the diagonal, and turning corners. working over 2 threads and working over 3 threads.
Includes numerous photographs of and blow-ups of the Montenegrin Stitch worked on actual antique samplers.
Even if you already own the original version of "Autopsy", you'll find this new version to be like adding a whole new resource to your needlework library.
Amy has also designed a linen pocket that serves 2 purposes: first, it is the perfect size to hold the "Autopsy" notebook, and second, it provides an opportunity to practice the Montenegrin stitch on the cover (appropriately a miniature 17th century style mourning sampler), inside flap and back of the pocket.
Due to the thickness and weight of this book, it does have to be mailed as a parcel.
