The notebook contains 49 stitch diagrams for working the Montenegrin stitch up, down, left, right, on the diagonal, turning corners, working over 2 threads and working over 3 threads.

The linen pocket serves 2 purposes: first, it is the perfect size to hold the "Autopsy" notebook, and second, it provides an opportunity to practice the Montenegrin stitch on the cover (appropriately a miniature 17th century style mourning sampler), inside flap and back of the pocket.
