Amy Mitten introduces "The Forgeries". These are reproduction samplers stitched with Amy's hand dyed silk threads. The variation within the threads lends these samplers a truely antique look.
forgery #1 - Margaret Muir was originally stitched in 1859. From the cover of the chart:
"Margaret Muir's sampler descended in a Toronto, Canada family and was likely worked there.
The sampler is dominated by a bright red, two chimney house. This house is further enhanced by
the pink fence and gate, flower-topped columns, hearts, large pots of flowers and fat brids. A stray
dog lounges in the space between the row of alphabets and the checkerboard pots sprout impossibly
large red flowers."
The finished size of Margaret Muir is 18 1/2" by 13"
