All of the charts for this series have now been released. By ordering this item you will automatically receive all 12 charts in the series.
Stitch count is 560 x 173. The stitch count for each month will be 173 x 47.
The photograph above is a computer image of the final piece using DMC floss. There are 46 colors of DMC floss listed so there is quite a bit of shading. As the design progresses, the designer will be making suggestions about places to use hand dyed floss, for example, the water or tree trunks. If there is enough interest, I will be happy to provide a conversion to hand dyed silk or hand dyed cotton or Needlepoint Inc silk. Please note that our conversions will only be available to those that purchase the charts and supplies for this series from us.
Donna, the designer at By The Bay, will be stitching her model on 32 count linen using 2 strands of DMC floss over 2 linen threads. This design lends itself quite well to cross stitch over one or over two.
We've listed the basic supplies information above. Since there are so many different ideas and combinations, please use the text box above to send us your instructions and we will do our best to accommodate them. Please email me if you have any questions.
Here are some important links. Please be sure that you have printed off everything that you need.
Information Sheet: contains the floss list, motif colors used (you can change these to suit your style) and the stitch count along with fabric sizes. Look for the Helpful Info File on the right hand side of this link: http://serenityharborsampler.blogspot.ca/
Alternate Bottom Sections: some stitchers ran out of linen at the bottom of their sampler. These alternate bottom charts replace or alter Parts 11 and 12 to make the design slightly shorter: http://serenityharborsampler.blogspot.ca/
Notes about previous parts:
Donna has sent a note about thread choices for Part 8:
"The suggested color for the green house is DMC 730, but laying this floss on top of DMC 3051 is appears to be similar and the green house might not show up as much as desired. I suggest that the color for the house and the tree next to it be changed to DMC 732. The green house was previously started in section #7 and has 10 stitches, if you have not stitched them yet then please consider changing the house for a lighter green......* The program I used for designing had the color looking much lighter than it really is and I want to make sure you are happy with the color choice and wanted to give you a heads up :) before it became a concern for you."
Donna has just sent us an email clarifying a bit of confusion about the symbols used in Parts 5 and 6:
"Hi everyone, Just a note that on Section #5 the black star was used for DMC 890 and for Section #6 the same black star was used for DMC 436......... DMC 890 was not used in Part #6 so if you follow each Sections charted symbols it is fine :)"
There is a Facebook group and a number of blogs for the Serenity Harbor Sampler. You'll find lots of progress pictures and thread color changes that people have made there.
Here are some links that I know of but I'm sure there are more out there:
