Catherine Armstrong 1856 ~ Antique Sampler of the Month July'21 ~ Cross Stitch Antiques

This is the seventh release in the Antique Sampler of the Month series being released by Cross Stitch Antiques for 2021.

Although nothing could be found relating to young Catherine Armstrong, we do know she was boldly proud she finished her sampler at age nine, marking this prominently full center, as boldly as her luscious flowers and colors. The sampler is stitched on loosely woven cloth, reminiscent of the lined paper children learn penmanship on, with wool threads, which remain vibrant to this day. Possibly an American sampler, it was obtained from an auction sale in Pennsylvania. It is worked in cross stitch over two threads only.

    Stitch count is 267 x 212.

Model was stitched on 36 count Vintage Pecan Butter hand dyed linen from Lakeside Linens with silk threads from Needlepoint Inc.

Please check the boxes above to add the chart, linen and threads to your order.
