This is the first release in the Antique Sampler of the Month series being released by Cross Stitch Antiques for 2021.
Kathleen tells us "Young Bonnie Jean stitched this sampler which although contains no place name, one can indeed be fairly certain of her ethnicity being Scottish due to the revealing typically Scottish large alphabets with scrolling filigree, the various crowns, bright vibrant oranges, pinks, reds and greens, the little dogs, perhaps Scottish terriers, the stylized peacocks and overall layout of this charming, rather primitive sampler. Although Jean followed tradition with her motifs, her sampler was very original in color and choice of stitches, often changing midstream! The overall effect is charming and unique."
Stitch Count: 155 W x 243 H.
Model was stitched on 40 count Hogbristle linen from Fox and Rabbit and stitched with silks from Needlepoint Inc. Conversions to Soie d'Alger, DMC and Cosmo are included in the chart.
