This is the second release in the Antique Sampler of the Month series being released by Cross Stitch Antiques for 2021.
Kathleen
tells us "This 19th century unfinished glorious and colorful sampler celebrating God’s creative gifts of life, butterflies, flowers, birds and friendship has no date, name or place with which to identify the original stitcher. The source of the fragment of the stitched verse is also a mystery, and perhaps original to the stitcher. To complete the rhyme, the words “which to remember me” were added as a suggested completion. The antique sampler ends with the line reading “objects by w…” as pictured. Choose yourself whether to complete the verse or add your own ending!
Sampler reads “May these lines a relic prove, Even when I’m gone above, May they to my dear friends be, Objects by w(hich to remember me)”
