This beautiful reproduction sampler
with a large Algerian Eye upper border in various shades of reds, golds
and greens features symmetrically oversized red pots as the highlight.
Young Sylvia misspelled her own first name and used an upside down
letter adding to the charm of this antique sampler. Obtained from an
antique dealer who bought it at an auction near Cornwall, England, other than
the stitcher’s name, Sylvia Trigg and the date, February 4th, 1841,
there was no provenance or history on the sampler.
Stitch count is 195 W x 202 H.
Sample was stitched on 28 count Vintage Sand Dune from Lakeside Linens with DMC Cotton floss.
