This is a reproduction of a Dutch sampler dated 1839. The original has been embroidered with thick woolen threads on soft, approximately 32 ct. fabric.

The stitch count is 257 W x 237 H.The sampler is entirely worked in cross stitch over two threads. Use two strands of cotton.

The model was stitched on 35 count hand dyed Cocoa linen from Weeks Dye Works using a combination of hand dyed and DMC cotton floss. A DMC number is listed for those colours that did not have a good match between original wool colours and hand-dyed threads.
