    Cissy tells us "Mary Drake was 11 years old in 1818 when she stitched her sampler. Mary included interesting symbols in her sampler. A basket of flowers representing hope, friendship and love. Mary stitched eight baskets of flowers and then added two more baskets with fruit whcih can mean love, prosperity, health and happiness. Roses can indicate human love, beauty and joy. Robins signify confiding trust,"

    The sampler design measures 11.5" W x 15.2" H when stitched on 40 count linen.
