This colourful sampler made our hearts skip several beats when we first saw her, and we were beyond thrilled when we managed to acquire the sampler to share her with you.
The sampler is offered to you in two different formats ~ as a Printed booklet and as an instant PDF download.
For most Hands on Design charts, there are 4 versions of the pdf. You will be able to download any or all of the following pdf and graph versions:
Version 1 ~ A multi-page colour chart.
Version 2 ~ A one-page colour chart (intended to be viewed/used on your tablet, phone, laptop, or computer).
Version 3 ~ A multi-page black and white symbol chart.
Version 4 ~ A one-page black and white chart (intended to be viewed/used on your tablet, phone, laptop, or computer).
The sampler was most probably stitched in the latter decades of the 1800s. The verse so diligently stitched on the sampler was written by Thomas Moore, an Irish poet, satirist, composer, and political propagandist. He was a close friend of Lord Byron and Percy Bysshe Shelley.
What a shame that the samplermaker did not record their name and a date; if they had, time would not have stolen their memory away!
Stitch count is 385 W x 281 H.
The model was stitched on Woodsmoke hand dyed linen from Tabbycat Linens. The sampler is stitched with cross stitch over two threads of linen and has been rated as suitable for needleworkers of all abilities.
This delightful sampler has been reproduced using a palette of 28 colours from Au Ver à Soie’s range of Soie 100.3. We have provided conversions for Soie d’Alger and DMC below on varying counts of linen.
Please check the boxes above to add the PDF Download or the Printed chart, linen and threads to your order.
