Julia tells us "To “coddiwomple” is to travel in a purposeful manner towards a vague destination, and what better way to go. All fired up and full of enthusiasm but without expectations or preconceptions of what you’ll find at journey’s end. A truly liberating experience.

That’s exactly what happened during the design of this delightful chart. It began with a burning desire to create something fun to stitch but with absolutely no idea what might evolve, imagination was at the helm.

And should you ever find yourself heading in the general direction of Cornwall in the far south west of England with nothing particular in mind, it’s to be hoped that fate might guide your steps to Newlyn and the gallery of Alex and Tracy of the legendary jugs. which also rejoices in the name of Coddiwomple. They have a wondrous and eclectic mix of antique and vintage objects coupled with paintings wrought by their own fair hands. How serendipitous would that be?
