Melinda tells us "Eliza's sampler has been painstakingly reproduced using the original vibrant colors visible on the reverse of the sampler. Surrounded by an undulating border dotted with random tiny strawberries, the eye is drawn to her rendering of a fairy tale castle. Completing the sampler are Adam and Eve with a very fat snake, a large rose bush, colorful bird, and a abundance of flowers, birds, and trees. The lovely verse was penned by John Fawcett, an 18th century Yorkshire minister."
The stitch count is 227 W x 303 H.
Model was stitched on 32 count Putty linen from Weeks Dye Works and is stitched with DMC floss. The sampler is completed almost exclusively with cross stitch over two theads, with the corner thistle motifs executed in cross, back, satin, and a small amount of stem stitch. Close up photos of the thistles with complete instructions are included.
