    Merry Wind Farm tells us: "Mary Inglis was born in Lanarkshire, Scotland on February 18, 1816 to Thomas Inglis and Janet Burnside. She stitched her Scottish manor house sampler with its prominent bright blue roof at the age of 14. Mary incorporated many traditional Scottish elements including illuminated lettering to honor her parents, and surrounded her name with a delicate laurel."

    The stitch count is 204 x 204. Stitches used are cross stitch over one and two threads, back stitch, satin stitch and eyelet stitch.

    The model was stitched on 32 count hand dyed 18th Century Brown linen from R & R Reproductions using a combination of cotton and hand dyed cotton floss.
