Vickie tells us "We love the unique, the folksy and the poignant here at NeedleWorkPress! When we saw this uniquely positioned sampler, we knew we had to recreate it to be enjoyed today. Because it is stitched on canvas that didn’t exist until the mid 1800’s, we question the 1805 date written in pencil on the back of the antique. However, the date may have been transposed (1850) or may have referred to the maker’s (Sarah’s mother) birthdate. In any event, the wisdom is sound and the design oh so charming."

We suggest stitching on 36 count Bees Knees hand dyed linen from Tabbycat for a lighter mottled look OR 36 count Bees Knees hand dyed linen from Lallybroch for a darker mottled look.
