Nightshade Bird from Plum Street Samplers

Paulette tells us "This drum takes its inspiration from the other tomato pieces I'm releasing with this design. As you may know, tomatoes belong to the plant family known as solanaceae, which translates to "the nightshade plant." The meaning of this isn't clear, from what I've read, but they could have been given this moniker because some plants in this family bloom at night. Regardless, this drum was named for the black-and-pink bird carrying the cherry tomato vine!"

    Stitch count is 183 W x 58 H.

Model was stitched on 36 count Vintage Beeswax hand dyed linen from R & R Reproducions using hand dyed threads from Weeks Dye Worksand DMC Cotton floss.
Please note that DMC 822 is used for only 1 stitch. You may be able to find a substitute from your stash which will be a great alternative!
