Jane McMinn 1822 from Queenstown Sampler Designs ~ Nashville 2018

Barbara tells us: "The Jane McMinn 1822 design is a brilliant Scottish sampler. Traditional green and red alphabets parade across the upper rows.Pink, magenta and a sparkle of sunny yellow boldly embrace the design.  Distinctive Scottish design elements are the arcaded stylized pansy band, peacocks, crowned family initials, rose-trees, and a finely worked, three-story  mansion with a blue slate roof.  Some of the windows remain open, similar to a group of samplers from Virginia in the United States.  A sweet strawberry vine surrounds this delightful sampler."

    Stitch count is 291 H x 220 W.  Stitches used are:
Alternating Double Back stitch, Cross over one and two linen threads, Double Running, and Eyelet.

The model was stitched on 36 count Vintage Light Examplar hand dyed linen from Lakeside Linens using Needlepoint Inc. Silk thread.
