Mary Adwick 1804 Reproduction Sampler from Queenstown Sampler Designs ~ Nashville 2018

Barbara tells us: "The Mary Adwick 1804 sampler is an enchanting work of art.  A meandering strawberry vine and a satin stitch sawtooth border frame this sweet sampler.  Mary begins her rows with an eyelet alphabet, grouping the letters into compartments.  Two of the cutest birds are poised, along with a bantam lion, as well as her vigilant dog, Spot.  There are crowns, stars, and a graceful spray of banded heart-shaped flowers, displaying a cluster of lobed leaves.  A charming heart cartouche frames Mary’s captivating verse. "

    The verse reads:

To all kind Judges my Endeavors bow

I am not conceited but must Faults allow

Be not too nice my Art is very young

Least you should blast it with a rigid Tongue

    Stitch count is 221 H x 213 W.  Stitches used are:
Cross over 1 and 2 linen threads, Eyelet, and Satin.

The model was stitched on 32 count Vintage Pearled Barley hand dyed linen from Lakeside Linen using Needlepoint Inc. Silk threads.  Please check the boxes above to have these items added to your order.
