Emma Jane Keltner (1837-1861) from Chambersburg, Franklin County, Pennsylvania was 10 years old, or in her 11th year when she created her marvelous presentation. A large top-central star and a threesome of delightful red houses set the stage for her embroidered story. An overflowing rose cornucopia is central, along with multiple fruit baskets and flower pots. A few blue birds keep watch. The uppercase alphabet is worked in rice stitch. The letter ‘O’ is missing in the word Violet in her verse. I think that makes it adorable. The sampler has a modest Greek Key border.
