The English sampler underwent a dramatic transformation in the second quarter of the eighteenth century as its form gradually followed its evolving function. Its seventeenth-century function was primarily as a pattern record.
Stitch count is 129 W x 270 H.
Model was stitched on 35 count Lambswool linen from Wichelt and stitched with 13 colours of Silk threads.
