
Tammy tells us "Little Catharine was only 9 years old when she stitched her charming sampler back in 1840...that's 179 years ago! The upper section of the linen is stitched with three rows of alphabet letters, numbers and border patterns followed by two rows of family initials with Catharine's details beneath. The lower section of the linen is stitched with a central rosebush with a dog and little bird perched on a carnation bud to the left, and a duck and bird perched on top of a floral motif to the right. The uppermost bloom of the rosebush has a tree and floral motif on either side. "
