This design was released at the Nashville Needlework Market in March 2017.
Robin tells us: "This original design was inspired by the history of a local girls’ school. Located in Asheboro, NC, the Asheborough Female Academy was established in 1839. An image of the school from the 1940s can be found online, and the building on my design is based on that image. Notices in the local paper show that Miss Eliza Rae was the first teacher at the academy. The building still stands today and, although fundraising is still ongoing, the process of restoring it has already begun."
The model was stitched on 36 count hand dyed Cocoa linen from Weeks Dye Works using hand dyed cotton floss from Gentle Art Sampler Threads. Please check the boxes above to add these items to your order.
