Victorian Rose Needlearts tells us: "Frances Eliza Kimber lived up to her namesake with this sampler stitched when she was only 8. The last name Kimber refers to a 7th century warrior princess who staunchly defended the Christian faith and founded an abbey. Frances included the beatitude from Matthew 5:6, "Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled."
"The original was stitched on an uneven weave linen, but due to availability we have chosen to chart it for 32 count linen, which just makes it a bit squarer than the original."
The stitch count is 196 x 218.
The model was stitched on 32 count Cream Belfast linen using DMC floss. Please check the boxes above to add these items to your order.
